"The Inquisition of the Big Bad Wolf"
Prying Eye in collaboration with the Queensland creative minds of Gabriel Comerford (MakeShift Dance Collective/Independent Artist), Michael Smith, Jenni Large (Independent Artists) and Elise May (EDC Dancer).
"WOLF" is the second work being developed from the "A Likely Distrust Project" (ALDP) which Prying Eye began in 2010. The umbrella project, "ALDP" serves as a vehicle to develop Prying Eye's artistic practice and aims to refine effective collaborative methods.
Like "White Porcelain Doll" this work is seeded from the initial concept of (dis)trust.
What will the work be? Well let's just leave you wondering what black magic, criminals, dinner parties, wolf packs, TV dating shows, and car salesmen all have in common. It will be exciting, trust us!
The first stage development of this project has received Creative Development funding from Ausdance Queensland and is also supported by the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts and EDC.

Mind the Gap is a vehicle for change; a uniting of esteemed artists from Australia’s theatre, music and film industries to raise awareness of mental illness and its effects on carers, family and friends. Despite its age-old prevalence in society, mental health forever remains an area shrouded by fear and ignorance with 45% of Australians now facing some form of mental illness in their lifetime.

The "A Likely Distrust Project"
Prying Eye's ongoing investigation into collaborative practice.
The "A Likely Distrust Project" (ALDP) began with a residency in 2010 in which Prying Eye investigated our creative practice and collaborative processes. This residency was supported by the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts (JWCoCA) as part of its Fresh Ground program and researched the integration of video art with dance. The company's collaboration with video artist, Ryadan Jeavons, supported by Dr Clare Dyson as mentor, and Bruce McKinven as a design consultant, marked a vital evolutionary step for Prying Eye; beginning our new collaborative practice. Receiving further support from the Brisbane Powerhouse and with financial assistance from the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland, we expanded our collaborative practice in a PowerLab residency in 2012, building a collection of robust tools with which to effectively and efficiently collaborate with other artists. Rewardingly, it is through the creation of these tools which used "distrust" as a seed concept to form creative tasks and experiments, that generate exciting content to form new performance works, such as "White Porcelain Doll".
"ALDP" continues into 2014, through the support of the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Art's, Fresh Ground Residency program where Prying Eye continue to research collaboration and to generate material from the seed idea of "distrust" for future works.
