Lizzie Vilmanis is an acclaimed performer nominated "dancer to watch" in Dance Australia Critics Surveys and most recently nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Dancer (2015 Australian Dance Awards) for Prying Eye's "White Porcelain Doll". Her 16 year professional performance career (eight with Expressions Dance Company and four with Leigh Warren and Dancers) has seen her perform major roles, both at home and abroad, in works by some of the world's best choreographers. She has choreographed works for EDC, Royal Academy of Dancing, the South Australian Children's Ballet Company, Outcast Performing Arts, and Brisbane Festival's Mixed Tape and has appeared in film clips for Katie Noonan and Michelle Xen. She collaborated with Feet Teeth for Resurfaced (Brisbane Festival 2012), and Donna Hewitt for Lady Electronica Live (Judith Wright Centre 2012). Last year she was invited to teach and choreograph for the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts. She was also Co-Rehearsal Director for EDC's audition tour of Carmen Sweet and was Rehearsal Director for the subsequent performance tour throughout NSW, VIC and SA. She founded Brisbane Dance Artists Hub in 2010 which she still oversees and also continues her Master of Arts (Research) at QUT, investigating issues surrounding visibility of Brisbane independent contemporary dance artists. Lizzie is also the Program Consultant for Ausdance Queensland.
